Prices for bespoke cabinets are usually only around 20% more than a similar sized stock cabinet so there are no excessive premiums for your special cabinet sizes and they only take a couple of weeks to produce. However, due to the bespoke nature of the Drugs cabinet you are asking for we ask for payment with order.

All of our controlled drugs cabinets are manufactured by us in the U.K. and meet, or surpass, the requirements of the “Misuse of Drugs (Safe Custody) Regulations 1973” and British Standard 2881:1989.

Our approved design exceed BS2881:1989 level one, which is the requirement for the storage of Drugs in healthcare premises.

Our Drug Cabinets feature a fully welded 2mm thick steel construction with Euro cylinder locks (some cabinets feature seven lever mortise lock) with hardened steel bolts & full length anti saw return. All cabinets feature full length anti-jimmy folded return for added security and are press formed using 2mm thick cold reduced steel. Larger units come complete with reinforced doors, door trays and shelves all of which feature hygienic a wipe-clean polyester powder coated finish. The Cabinet hinges have welded hinge pins which prevent the pin from being forcibly removed.

Controlled drugs cabinet information NEW locks:

Pharmacy Medicals Controlled Drugs Cabinets have always used locks that conform to BS3621:1998 however we have seen times change and new, better quality locks come to market. In an effort to bring you the best quality product possible we have updated our locks. We used to use seven lever mortise locks on all of our cabinets and trolleys, however we have recently updated them to use 6 pin euro profile cylinder locks. Our new locks incorporate the following features:

  • 6 Pin Euro-profile cylinder lock incorporating Anti-pick, anti-drill, anti-bump and fire resistant features.
  • Independently tested to meet BS: EN1303:2005
  • Kitemark – KM532920
  • TS007 1 Star Cylinder
  • Key security grade 5
  • Torque resistance of plug/cylinder relevant to attack resistance – 30 Nm
  • Meets the MLA vulnerability test for cylinders
  • 10 Year Lock Cylinder guarantee from manufacturer
  • Key Retention – Key cannot be removed when the cabinet door is open
  • Cylinder meets BS EN1303:2005 which is the latest security standard testing against all methods of attack. The lock is also Kitemarked – KM532920
  • The cylinder has also been awarded Secured by Design accreditation (TS007). This is the Police preferred specification

These locks are manufactured for us by Yale® to ensure that you receive the best quality lock available.

Our 6 Pin Euro-profile cylinder locks are combined with a Mortise Deadlock for a secure locking system.

The Mortise Deadlock features the following:
  • Hardened steel mortise bolt with anti-saw facility incorporated in cabinet design.
  • 14mm deadbolt throw.
