COVID-19 and Pharmacy Medical
How the current Coronavirus situation is impacting Pharmacy Medical
Here at Pharmacy Medical, we would like to inform you that business will be operating as normal and that we are closely monitoring the developments of COVID-19 and its impact on our customers and delivery partners. Although our customers can continue to purchase online, we would like to discourage from the collect in store option.
Stock levels of our core products, Controlled Drugs Cabinets, Medicine Cabinets and MDS Drugs Trolleys are high on most SKU’s and our couriers are operating a normal service at the time of writing.
We are also pleased to confirm that having spoken to all our suppliers, we have no known current supplier chain issues. As a result, we are confident of continuing production and supply as normal.
Our elevated stock levels are also allowing us to fast track any orders relating to COVID-19. Large stock orders and bespoke orders will be subject to shorter than usual lead times, with an estimate of 5-7 working days subject to volumes.
Stock items are as ever on a 24 hour dispatch.
If your order is urgent medical equipment relating to COVID-19, please let us know and we will do our best to have it with you as quickly as possible.
Hygiene in Production
Given the current situation we have taken extra measures within the production process to maintain high levels of personal and product hygiene. Alcohol hand gel stations have been installed in our factory and personal distancing has been implemented as best we can during a usual working day. Increased frequency of sanitation of all contact areas has been implemented also.
Our Delivery Partners and Coronavirus COVID-19
Palatalised Deliveries:
Freight deliveries to the UK and Ireland are currently fully operational. However additional infection reduction measures have been put into place:
In an attempt to reduce the exposure risk to delivery teams there will be a change to how a delivery is signed for (POD).
After consultation with the APN (Association of Pallet Networks) an agreed consensus for alternative ePod (sign on glass) has been agreed with immediate effect and until further notice.
1. Delivery points will no longer be able to ‘Sign on Glass’ to record an electronic signature.
2. Delivery points must provide the delivery agent with a signed piece of paper of their own that can be photographed and used a ‘Captured Signature’.
A further reduction may be for our networks to capture the Surname of the recipient Only. We will advise if this is to take effect.
Small Parcel Deliveries
For small parcel deliveries, we use DPD Local. The following is their latest information as of the 18th March 2020.
“At present we can report that our parcel collection, sortation and delivery operations continue as normal.”
At the point of delivery
DPD Local are no longer asking customers to sign handheld units and instead drivers will sign it on their behalf. DPD Local will record the consignees name and a ‘Delivered on Authority’ message in the signature section of the unit.
With this new process you will still get your full track and trace functionality, giving you complete visibility of all your parcels.
This now forms our proof of delivery process for all deliveries until further notice.
DPD Local are doing everything possible to support our customers and our people so that we can minimise any disruption and continue giving you and your customers the best possible delivery experience
We hope you all are keeping safe in these unfortunate circumstances and thank you for your continued support.
If you have any queries regarding any of the above, please feel free to contact our support team on +44 (0) 1623 559966
