COVID-19 and Production
A Statement from Pharmacy Medical on Production
We thank all our customers for their patience and understanding during this uncertain time.
As we write this post on the 5th June 2020, we have just shipped the last of the IV poles ordered through NHS Supply Chain in support of the fight against covid-19. Loading the second lorry before it headed off to NHS Supply Chains warehouse it occurred to us what we have produced over the past 8 or so weeks.
Although we are still busy manufacturing medical equipment, the rush of COVID orders have now slowed. We have supported NHS and their Nightingale hospitals to the best of our ability supplying IV poles, trolleys, Controlled Drugs Cabinets and Medicine Cabinets amongst other equipment.
Doing the maths on our IV poles, we have figured we have used at least:
- almost 30 tonnes of stainless steel
- approx. 4 miles of tube
- roughly 1 mile of bar
- over 15 thousand castors
- around 15 thousand bolts and approximately 32 thousand nuts.
and we’re still counting.
Once again we thank you all for you support and patience. Whilst we have cleared the backlog of these orders, now starts the mammoth job of re-stocking. The COVID orders literally cleared all our stock and more besides. So now starts the task of re-stocking to enable us to offer the service that we are well renowned for.
So in the mean time, please be aware that our lead times may be longer than usual, and we still encourage you to get in touch if you require your order urgently.
Once again, we thank you for your continued support during this time.
Kind Regards,
The Pharmacy Medical Team.
We hope you all are keeping safe in these unfortunate circumstances and thank you for your continued support.
